I know how much effort went into making this production - late nights, early mornings, it was no easy task - yet it turned out to be such a SPECTACULAR online event. So many special "moments" but Alison singing with the Kangaroos in the background...AT THE BEACH...genius and beautiful. The full moon shots/video, and the moment on the jetty - oh and Santa - WOW, just WOW!! All the kids did an AWESOME job and now they can have this memory to view forever. Your comments: I've only just found time to watch your absolutely fantastic production of “Carols in the Park 2020”. Congratulations, it is out of this world and the imagination and creativity is unreal and really shows off Whyalla so well. I was in Port Augusta on Monday evening for the Lions Club of Port Augusta’s Christmas Dinner and people there were talking about it and then last night our Club had their Christmas Dinner at Roopena and again I heard many very favorable comments. Again it is hard to come up with the correct words but, sincerely, it is much, much more than I ever expected. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HARD WORK IN PRODUCING THE VIDEO!

Your comments: Well done - I thought last nights carols was one of the most enjoyable yet!

I know people say that sort of thing every year, but this year really was very well presented - the Lions did a great job and it was great.

Having the D'Faces clowns roaming around, and the free kids face-painting was a great idea - and the stage looked better than it has looked in the past.

I liked the attention to detail even down to the books Mark and Glen and others held when they were reading or singing - they had that little xmas touch.

The night sounded great and looked wondeful - you should be proud of your efforts, you put together a great night of a variety of talent and entertainment.

Your comments: I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone who was involved in the planning, staging and entertaining of Sunday night’s Apex One Steel Carols in the Park.

The family focus supported by special guests The Funkees and the many young people who took to the stage during the night was an outstanding effort. The appearance of Father Christmas as part of the finale was another exceptionally successful move ensuring the huge crowd left Civic Park on “a high.”

I heard many comments around me suggesting the evening was the “best ever.” I know that my family and grand children certainly enjoyed the program, despite the blustery wind at the start of the night.

Congratulations also to the people of Whyalla who packed the park, enjoyed themselves, and made sure one of the city’s biggest annual free events was another outstanding success.

There are too many organisations and individuals to actually name, but everyone involved – whether performing, working behind the scenes, or providing a food stall – should be justifiably proud of their efforts.

However, I must publicly acknowledge the efforts of the Apex Club of Whyalla in organising the night, and both Alison Hams and Mark Tempany for putting the entire program together and then making sure everything went off smoothly.

It was indeed a top night. Whyalla is much richer for the efforts of so many to give our city something special at Christmas. Thank you so very much.

Previous visits to Carols: Most - right back to the hospital gardens as a child.
Your favourite thing at Carols 2006: Impossible to pick a favourite thing - everyone involved really put in a huge effort, and everyone who came along, in the spirit of Christmas, to sway their candles, sing along, and share their friendship and goodwill made for a great night.
Your comments: Onesteel came on board as a major sponsor and brought pop act/reality TV start Amity Dry, and rap act Casio Bros last year. This year they brought us the Fabulous James Blundell. The carols/kids component up to and including Santa until 9pm was great, and having James sing his Christmas songs as part of his set made for a great "concert" part of the evening.
Since the demise of events such as Proclamation Day Concert, Whyalla has needed a high energy, open air concert - and for a FREE ENTRY event, what a way to see one of Australias finest stars! Jessie Che and her band were great, Emma Taylor's version of the Mariah Carey song was brilliant for a teenage girl, Mark Tempany, the choir, the dancers, the pipe band with traditional and gospel music!
Watching Carols in the Domain the night before and seeing contemporary acts such as Human Nature mixing their chart hits with Christmas songs, THEN coming to Carols In The Park and seeing Whyalla put on a similar show, with 100's of volunteer hours to do so - I have to say I am very proud to say I was part of the event!!

Your comments: It would have to be the best carols I've been to in years! My whole family had such a great time and even the littlies lasted to 10:30pm!! It had a nice relaxed family feel. I enjoyed the carols and Santa was a highlight! Choice of songs were great, there were no boring carols! :)

Your favourite thing at Carols 2006: Alison's ability to get everyone in the Christmas spirit & getting the crowd involved. And the beautiful scene of everyone holding their candles up high & swaying - very memorable.
Your comments: We had a underprivleged lady sitting just behind us alone - just to watch her singing along and having a wonderful time even though she was alone. We gave her a glow in the dark bangle - to see the delight this brought to her face was unforgettable, she held it & swayed it through all the songs - smiling & singing. This is what Christmas and carols in the park is all about - joining as a community for free no matter who you are. ENJOYABLE!!
